I am a climber, alpinist and former outdoor educator with the Colorado Mountain Club where I co-led the adult education rock climbing program and taught ice climbing and mountaineering for 10 years.

Married to Valerie Hawks, photographer and head of sustainability and production at Interact. We're parents of an English cream golden retriever (Rose Nylund) and Persian cat (Sophia Petrillo), and active in the Burning Man community.
